| Customer Reviews: Fantastic, diverse collection of shorts June 25, 2010 K. Williams (London, United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are a wide range of shorts in this collection and the best of them are nothing less than brilliant. The works by Peter Sollent and DA Pannebaker are just superb. Almost all of the shorts are thought-provoking and well executed, and some of them are quite moving.
classic epochal work July 5, 2007 Michael Kerjman 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I simply enjoy this set of short films ushering a viewer through the latest sixty years of rapid changes New York and US society experienced.
To me, some films are more interesting (Five Feet High and Rising, Daybreak Express, Meshes of the Afternoon), some less-but this DVD is a classic epochal work for generations oncoming.
Buy This For Home! June 25, 2007 A. Bettridge (Sydney Australia) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been searching for some of these films for years! This set would be worth the money if it only contained Maya Deren's landmark "Meshes Of The Afternoon"; but you also get a Warhol screen test, Tim Burton's darkly funny "Vincent", the eerie and beautiful "Necrology" and much more. Highly recommended.
do not buy this 4 home February 28, 2007 Raoul Duke (London) 1 out of 22 found this review helpful
Despite most of the directors featured in this DVD are synonymous with quality, the majority of features are pointless to say the least. All in all you are going to get no more than 5min of quality viewing for your money.
